Who are your clients exactly?
Our clients are busy men and women who understand that their work and lifestyle is affecting their health and fitness and they want to do something about it. They have noticed their bodies feeling weaker and are suffering with aches and pains, particularly in their back. This has left them worried about their health and looking to take action to regain confidence in how their body looks and feels.
Our Post Natal Recovery programme is aimed at women who have had a baby in the last 6 months while our other classes consist of men and women predominantly between the ages of 30 and 65 who want effective, high quality exercise that will see them strengthen their bodies from top to toe and reduce their back pain.
Who will your programmes work for?
Our programmes are suitable for everyone and for all levels so long you are willing to make a commitment to your fitness and wellness. We seek to enhance our client’s mental and physical wellbeing through a convenient, flexible and fun programme of classes and support in between.
Where do your classes take place?
Our Post Natal Recovery Programme classes take place at: Unity Studio (BN2 3LG), Purple Turtle Wellbeing (BN1 1YA) and The Loft (BN1 4AN).
Our other classes take place at: Downs Junior School (BN1 6ED), St Bartholomew’s School (BN1 4GP) and The Loft (BN1 4AN).
What type of person do I need to be to make this work?
If you’re currently very busy with work and personal life, used to putting everyone else before you, rushing from place to place trying not to drop the ball but…. Are also scared and fed up with how your body feels, then you are our ideal client. You just need to be open minded and genuinely willing to make the time for the change you seek.
I’ve tried lots of stuff before and nothing has worked. Does this really work?
Pilates can offer many benefits such as improved posture, increased strength and the ability to reduce back pain without medication or intervention. It has changed many of our clients’ lives and made them feel empowered and in control of their bodies once again. Don’t just take my word for it, have a look at what others have to say in the success stories section.
These amazing things can be achieved so long you are consistent with your practice and you make it a habit. We will be there for you, to help you along the way, but ultimately you are in control of your own success.
If I’m not sure I’m ready to get started, how can I sample your work to see if it’s the right solution for me?
That’s totally understandable and that’s why we offer our free taster classes. These are group classes that will give you a chance to come and meet us and get a feel for our teaching and approach. You can also follow us on Facebook for daily tips and news.
What results can I expect?
Our clients usually float out of the room after class! I can see them standing taller, shoulders back, enjoying the increased mobility in their joints and spine and a release of tension in their muscles that they can immediately feel. They love feeling well worked from top to toe but not sweaty and exhausted!
You’ll breath better and increase your body awareness which means you’ll have all the tools you need to identify when your body isn’t feeling so good and know what changes to make to feel better. Incidences of back pain will be massively reduced if not eliminated.
Our clients tell us that they feel calmer, less stressed, they can think more clearly and that these mental benefits have had a huge impact on how they interact at work and at home. They enjoy making new friends with the other participants and having an hour of time to focus on themselves.
All these physical, mental and emotional changes will make you feel happier and more confident in your body.
How quickly can I expect results?
There is a famous quote by Joseph Pilates and I believe it to be true. He said: “In 10 sessions, you feel better, 20 sessions you look better, 30 sessions you have a completely new body.” Of course that’s only true if you commit to consistent practice and do at least 2 classes a week. If you can only attend 1 class a week that’s definitely better than not doing anything however you might reach your goals a little slower.
It sounds great but I don’t have time?
Our different packages enable you to choose how many classes per week you want to attend to suit your time available. We also offer 10 classes per week to choose from and have a flexible online booking system whereby you’re not committed to attending the same class each week but can flex around your busy schedule. We also allow you to make up missed classes so you never need fall behind with your practice!
Ultimately, is your wellbeing and happiness a priority? If yes, then I know you will find the time. I always say you can make Pilates as everyday as drinking water. Do you have time to drink water? Then you have time to do Pilates.
Do I need to be fit to keep up in the sessions?
Not at all – we have members of varying fitness levels and for every exercise and stretch we offer three different options (at different levels of difficulty) so that everyone can take part at the level they are comfortable with.
Is it going to be really hard?
You will be progressed at your own pace and abilities using the level system above. Like anything new, you will need time to adjust and feel comfortable with everything but rest assured that we would never teach you exercises that are impossible, challenging yes, impossible no!
